AFTER THE APPLAUSE (2020)

'After The Applause’ was a project shot in Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic and it sheds light on the major social issue that arose; the student nurses crisis.

 

Through collaborating with my friend, who was a student nurse at the time, we constructed her real experience and daily routines into a narrative that allowed the idea of the nurse to be humanised.

 

Shot from outside looking in, the distance surfaces and reinforces the feelings of the restrictions, while also allowing the viewer in close enough to relate and engage with the nurse.
